IU Energy Support Local & National Charities

CLIC Sargent ball

On 11th September, IU Energy staff and their partners attended the CLIC Sargent ball, which was held to raise money for providing clinical, practical, financial and emotional support to help families deal with the impact of cancer and its treatment. Chaz Lawrence, Managing Director at IU Energy, said:

“It was a lovely evening and fantastic opportunity for all at IU to show support for the charity. The evening was very enjoyable and we hope the event was able to raise as much money as possible!”

Jeremiah’s Journey Skydive

Rebecca Cavanagh, Marketing Assistant and Administrator at IU Energy, recently skydived to raise money for Jeremiah’s Journey. The skydive was from 15,000ft – the highest you can jump without oxygen! Rebecca said:

“I had the time of my life – it was all so surreal but I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it and am very grateful for the support and generous donations made so far.”

Jeremiah’s Journey Abseil

Chris Rouse, Financial Supervisor at IU Energy, recently took the plunge and completed a daring 220ft abseil down Canonteign Falls, which is believed to be the highest waterfall in England! Chris raised money for Jeremiah’s Journey through sponsorship and commented:

“It was a really great day – everyone was smiling, despite how high it was! Admittedly I was a bit scared, but it was really fun and for a worthwhile cause!”

Dartmoor Zoo

Following a period of growth, IU Energy moved to larger premises at Drake Mill Business Park, Estover. This brought a review of all equipment and CEO Duncan Banks and MD Chaz Lawrence decided Dartmoor Zoo was a worthy recipient of a donation of 12 computers. Dartmoor Zoo was converted to a charity in 2014 and has many new exciting projects underway. Duncan Banks, CEO of IU Energy:

“We wanted to donate the computers to a local and worthy cause… being CEO of a company which promotes sustainability, and having worked with Dartmoor Zoo in the past, we recognise their hard work, particularly around conservation projects.”
