Missed the ESOS deadline?
If you haven’t complied with ESOS yet, the chances are you have either received a call from the Environment Agency or you are on their list.
They want to know if you are in the process of completing your ESOS assessment and when you expect to be compliant. Failure to do so could result in a large fine and daily penalty fees.
DO YOU NEED TO DO AN ESOS ASSESSMENT?
If you qualify for ESOS and your organisation is fully covered by ISO 50001, you don’t need to carry out an ESOS assessment. You just need to notify the Environment Agency that you are compliant with ESOS.
If you qualify for ESOS, but your organisation is not fully covered by ISO 50001, you need to carry out an ESOS assessment. The assessment helps you work out what your organisation needs to do to comply with the ESOS regulations.
In our experience as lead assessors for ESOS compliant organisations throughout the UK, our advice is to act quickly and take action towards compliance now. In doing so you could avoid or curb the fines and to reap the rewards from the required energy audits.

♦ 250 employees or more
