Builders Merchant Confirms Green Credentials Ahead of Schedule (ESOS)
Leading South West Builders Merchant, Rawle Gammon and Baker Holdings Ltd (RGB), have successfully achieved compliance with a new EU energy efficiency directive almost 4 months ahead of schedule.
The company, which has 16 sites across the region, complied with the mandatory Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) well in advance of the 5 December 2015 deadline (and 29 Jan discretionary waiver) thanks to specialist support from energy consultants, IU Energy.
Under ESOS, large undertakings with more than 250 staff and/or turnover in excess of £38.9m and an annual balance sheet of £33.4m are included in the first compliance period. Failure to notify the EA of compliance by 5th Dec could result in a fine of up to £50,000.
“We selected IU Energy to deliver ESOS compliance because of their competitive pricing and knowledgeable staff. They provided excellent support and made the compliance process both straightforward and manageable”
commented Russell Jenkins, Commercial Manager.
IU Energy worked closely with RGB to complete site audits across their network of buildings and transport vehicles to produce an ESOS report detailing their findings and energy saving recommendations.
“We are delighted to secure ESOS compliance on behalf of RGB well ahead of the cut-off date. RGB take energy efficiency seriously and it has been a pleasure to work with an organisation which is proactive in its efforts to improve environmental performance” commented Duncan Banks, CEO, IU Energy.
The ESOS deadline 5 Dec 2015 has passed, but it’s not too late to comply.
Even with the 29 Jan final deadline approaching, we can still help:
