Reminder – the Feed-in-Tariff will cease on March 31st 2019 and leading up to that, Solar PV manufacturers will run out of stock as they did when the Government cut the tariff rate (twice). Contact us now and don’t leave it too late to get these twenty year benefits!
Our client is a domestic consumer with a specific requirement for the supply, installation and commissioning of a 3.68kw Solar PV system onto the South East orientated extension of his roof area.
In order to reduce visual impact and installation costs, the system had to be designed so that only a specified area of roof space was utilised, whilst providing the maximum possible amount of generation. The challenge therefore was that a less than ideal surface area was available for a 3.68kw Solar PV installation, so it was critical to specify high output panels.
In order to address the challenges posed by the siting of the array, IU Energy took into consideration many factors during the site survey, including shade factor (SF).
IU Energy designed a solar array which included the selection of panels that provided an additional 20% output per panel for the same surface area of their standard counterparts. This design met our client’s three requirements of property aesthetics, surface area and power output.
The installation was delivered on-time, within budget and has an annual payback of £722.42, with a gross benefit over twenty years of £14,448.32 – income being paid from both the Feed in and Export Tariffs.
These figures represent an 8.41% ROI (Return on Investment) over twenty years – far higher than a bank or building society. This figure is also inflation proofed as the Feed in Tariff is linked to the Retail Price Index (RPI). This figure would have been even higher had the solar panels been standard models.
“I would like to thank you and the team of installers. From the initial contact, the explanation of solar and prompt fitting, the whole process has been very smooth – great team. I will definitely recommend you and the company in the future. Thanks again”. Client.
