Sustainability in Business

IU Energy are keen to stress the benefits of identifying wasted energy and intervening across a number of technologies to reduce CO2 and unnecessary spend; the competitive advantage of this is manifest.

“It is great for the city to have IU Energy based here providing crucial advice which gives companies a real competitive edge. With their continued growth and investment in local graduates and apprentices, I am delighted to see them develop into a real success story.”
Cllr Ian Bowyer, Leader of Plymouth City Council

Graduate Employment

Additionally, we are keen to highlight the benefit of local skills; our own engagement of Plymouth University graduates has directly increased our output as a business. We have also provided projects for undergraduate students with an interest in the energy sector.

“As a University that has been renowned for its green credentials for more than two decades, we share with IU Energy a commitment to corporate social responsibility. We are delighted that they are growing through this new merger.” Professor Judith Petts, CBE, VC of Plymouth University

Our Direction

The deal sees Amer directors Liam Reed and Ben Thomas become directors of the newly merged company alongside CEO Duncan Banks and MD Chaz Lawrence.

“This deal will further differentiate us in a noisy energy market where organisations are seeking trusted partners whose performance improves profits.  This merger puts us in a great place to accelerate our growth plans, which will certainly include further mergers and acquisitions.”
Duncan Banks, CEO, IU Energy

“We were delighted so many senior figures joined us to celebrate at Plymouth University with whom we have worked closely to bring graduate expertise into our business.  We look forward to strengthening that relationship in the future.” Chaz Lawrence, Managing Director, IU Energy
